Moab, Utah Desert Intimate Wedding
Moab, Utah is one of my all-time favorite places in the US. The sprawling desert landscape, incredible canyons cracked open wide by rivers, and red rock formations and arches are just some of the landscape elements you’ll run into. Moab is home to two National Parks—Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park—both of which are wildly stunning. But not just the national parks are worthy of a stop. Out in Castle Valley on the east side of Moab, you’ll get to witness towers of red rock formations that stop you in your tracks.
That’s where Anna + Josh decided to have their ceremony. Out in Castle Valley with the insane views for miles, their closest friends and family gathered for their intimate wedding ceremony, topped off with custom coozies and drinks for a celebratory cheers once their vows were complete.
The rest of the evening took place at their lodging. They rented a huge house with room for all their guests to stay, including a pool, hot tub, and a gorgeous patio where dinner and the reception took place. Next to the pool, they had their first dance with all their closest people, had BBQ for dinner, and later took a dip in the pool to cool off after a hot day in the desert.
This micro wedding was such a fun one to be a part of! Moab is such a special place to me, and being able to photograph weddings and elopements here makes my heart so dang happy. I can’t wait to get back to Moab, Utah soon!

I didn’t want anything too staged and wanted the day to flow organically. When I say Emily is a ninja, I mean she was invisible. There are photos she took of the ceremony that I don’t even know how she captured without me noticing. She must have sprinted through the desert to capture some of the photos.
