Why lifestyle?

The first sessions I ever took were lifestyle sessions. I’ll never forget the first time someone gave me MONEY (whaaaaat?) to take their family photos. It was 2012 and I was a sophomore in high school, and my mom’s coworker needed family photos done, so I offered to take them. I had just gotten my first DSLR camera and couldn’t wait to use it. What I didn’t know is where that first session would take me.

I’ve been doing lifestyle sessions ever since then. Over the past 8 years, I’ve learned so many things about how to properly capture a moment in someone’s life, and just how important they are. They freeze a moment in time that you get to hold onto forever - how freaking cool is that? Nothing can take away those memories, because that moment is frozen in time.

My family had a HUGE tub of photographs in our basement, and one of my favorite things to do was dig through them and ask my parents about certain photos. Getting to hear stories about my parents growing up and stories about their parents, all through photographs. A legacy through pictures. Give that gift to your family.
